Skills and qualifications
With over fifteen years experience at the BBC, I have a wide range of digital skills and experience:
Digital project management
I have produced a wide range of technically ambitious digital projects and acted as a product owner in a number of Agile project teams.
Developing new content and format ideas has been a significant part of my career to date. I'm always excited about the opportunity to explore new ways of communicating complex ideas to wide audiences.
I have produced a wide range of short films and audio pieces for formal and informal learning audiences, working with presenters, setting up multi-location shoots, and managing complex edits.
Writing and editing
I have written on many different science and history topics for the BBC. I have also commissioned and edited content from academics, presenters and freelance writers.
Many of my favourite projects have involved collaborations between the Media and universities, galleries, charities and museums. I have set up and managed many successful partnerships.
My academic background spans the sciences and the arts:
MPhys: Physics (University of Manchester)
MPhil: Quantum Dynamics (University of Manchester)
MSc: Science Communication (Imperial College)
MA: Modern and Contemporary Literature (Birkbeck)
I am currently studying for a PhD in literary linguistics at the University of Sheffield.
